About Me

Hello there! I am Vijay Tadikamalla.

Currently, I am working as a Data and Applied Scientist in the STCI (Bing) team at Microsoft. I recently completed my Bachelor of Technology from IIT Hyderabad with a major in Computer Science and Engineering. My interests include, but are not limited to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Big data Analytics. Lately, I have developed interest in Financial Market analysis.

When I am not working, you can find me binge-watching animes, web series or eating maggi. 😉

  • Mentored a student on the Community Datasets project in TensorFlow Datasets (TFDS) library.

  • Three day AI Summer School hosted by Google Research India.
  • The Summer School consisted of research lectures and discussions where esteemed researchers discussed ideas/papers in AI Research in a lecture-style and lead discussions on these topics.

Google Summer of Code Developer

  • Worked with Google Brain’s TensorFlow team on TensorFlow Datasets (TFDS) library.
  • Improved backward compatibility and cross‑language support by loading datasets without reading dataset generation code.
  • Made TFDS more user friendly by implementing TFDS CLI, folder‑based dataset generation methods and improving dataset catalog, etc.

  • Worked with Edge PDF Reader team to improve Scanned PDF accessibility.
  • Added a Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature in the PDF reader.
  • Improved the PDF reader’s capability by allowing users to select and search text in the images of the PDF file.

Google Summer of Code Developer

  • Developed HsYAML library, a processor (loader and dumper) for YAML files in Haskell.
  • Extended data‑model to allow round‑trips while preserving comments, anchors, etc.
  • Made HsYAML the best YAML processor by achieving 99% conformance on YAML‑Test‑Suite. See it's performance on YAML-Test-Matrix.
